Grow Along – Free Your Mind

So we had this little jamsession going on… I programmed a beat and a bassline. Marc played some keys and then Ramona stood up to the mic and out of nothing blurted out these lyrics. In post-production I added some keys and finalized the whole thing just so you can all free your mind!

Grow Along – I Say My Prayers

Talking about the books we are not really here to do, although the title might steer you otherwise 😉
Grow Along is a project with some local musicians, artists and producers who gather together and just plain and simple create music and art from the heart and from the soul…

Various individuals came and are coming together under the very soulful guidance of Ramona van Batenburg to bundle forces and create not only music, but also organize get-togethers, events and soon upcoming the first festival. A place for aspiring or established musicians, DJ’s, artists, to come and gather, reveal their talent and spar with others to gain ideas, creativity and input, with the philosophy that the sum of all is greater than the individual. We provide a warm bath for people to develop and intertwine with each other. We range from musicians, to DJ’s, to painters, graphical and video-artists, (song)writers, producers, sound engineers, sound designers, etc.

Here’s a song that was conceived in just one evening of joining forces…

Grow Along – Dreams Come True (Demo)

Hello musicfriends. Finally a little update on what I am doing lately in the wonderful world of music…

I’ve picked up playing the drums again for the band Grow Along. We play crossover-music written and composed by ourselves. Recently we did a very basic demo-recording of one of our songs:

Groove Citizen – Top Secret Affair (Rehearsal recording)

From an obscure rehearsal-tape from a band I used to play keyoards for, I pulled this track… It honestly is a top secret affair 😉

The Lowlanders – Southbound Train

Here is the complete (with vocals) version of Southbound Train by The Lowlanders…

The Lowlanders – The World

Taken from the 2009 demo, this is The Lowlanders performing their version of Brad Paisley’s song The World

The Lowlanders are/were:

Armandox ft. Gerard & Rebecca – Islands In The Stream

Well folks, here is my latest track. Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton first released this song back in 1983. Written by the brothers Gibb, otherwise known as The Bee Gees, who took the title from an Ernest Hemingway novel.

Rebecca Schouw and Gerard Kielenstijn recorded their own version, after which I offered them to do remix, and so here we are… Fun fact: The Gibb’s originally wrote this song for Marvin Gaye to be an R&B-song before offering it to Rogers to include it on his ‘Eyes That See In The Dark’ album.
