I have always loved many music styles, which includes jazz fusion and funk. There is something about the groove, the harmony, and the improvisation that makes me feel alive and inspired. That’s why I was thrilled when I discovered that one of my favorite YouTube channels, Produce Like A Pro, featured a song by one of my favorite bands, Jeff Lorber Fusion.

Produce Like A Pro is a channel created by Warren Huart, a Grammy-nominated producer, engineer, and musician. He shares his knowledge and experience on how to make great music in your home studio, using affordable and accessible tools. He also offers free multitracks, courses, contests, and discounts on his website.

The song he featured was Funky Gospel, a classic tune from Jeff Lorber Fusion’s debut album in 1977. Jeff Lorber Fusion is a jazz fusion band led by keyboardist Jeff Lorber, who has been making music for over four decades. He has collaborated with many legendary artists, such as Kenny G, Chick Corea, and Mike Stern. He has also won a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album in 2018.

Funky Gospel is a catchy and soulful song that combines the elements of jazz fusion and funk. It has a tight rhythm section, a funky bass line, and a smooth saxophone melody. It also has some interesting chord changes and modulations that add some spice to the song.

I was so excited when I saw that Produce Like A Pro offered the multitracks of Funky Gospel for free on their website. I immediately downloaded them and opened them in my DAW (digital audio workstation). I wanted to try my own mix and sonic vision of the song.
